How to Install Replacement Projector Lamps
Replacing projector bulbs is't difficult, but it does require some basic knowledge about what type of lamp you have, how long it should last and how to remove it. Most projector lamps need to be replaced after around 2,000 hours, while some may have longer or shorter lifespans based on the model of the lamp. To get an estimate on how long your projector bulb should last, consult the user manual for more information. For specific details on bulb replacement, please consult our Library of Owner's Manuals to find your brand/model of projector.
The first step in replacing a lamp is to determine what style you need. MPLAMPS sells the following lamp styles:
- Projector Lamp with Module
- Bare Projector Lamps
This style of projector lamp consists of the bulb, the electrical wiring and the plastic casing that surrounds them. The bulb is clipped into place and then locked into the casing with a few screws in the back.
A bare projector lamp includes just the bulb on it's own, without the addition of the plastic casing, wiring and screws.
Installing a Projector Lamp w/Module
1. Make sure the projector is unplugged and sitting on a flat surface
2. Loosen the screw holding the projector lamp module cover in place and remove the panel
3. Unplug the old projector lamp and remove it from the projector
4. Plug the new projector lamp securely into place
5. Attach the panel back onto the projector and tighten the screw
Installing a Bare Projector Bulb
Every bare projector bulb sold by MPLAMPS comes with a detailed instruction sheet with pictures and a clear description of the steps required to install your new lamp. It's an easy process that can be completed in just a few minutes!
To install a bare projector bulb, follow steps 1-2 above and then complete the following:2. Unscrew the wires connected to the bare projector bulb
